For me working on art is more then the construction of something 'beautiful'. It is the continuous battle between the white canvas and my rational thinking. Often it seems like that during my painting I experience a period where my thinking stops and the canvas becomes the projection of my internal imagination ('the unconsciousness'). I never ask myself while I am painting if it is beautiful or not. The only question is: 'When to stop'. At the end of the process I look to my own creation as an 'astonished' spectator"
